4B+ STANDARD HORIZONTAL MAILBOXES-FRONT OR REAR LOADING

Made entirely of aluminum, Salsbury 3600 series U.S.P.S. approved 4B+ standard horizontal mailboxes are available with standard A size doors and larger B size doors. Units with standard A size doors are available 3, 4 or 5 wide and 5, 6 or 7 HIGH. Units with larger B size doors are available 2 wide and 5, 6 or 7 HIGH. Each door includes a five (5) pin cylinder cam lock with two (2) keys and a 2'' W x 5/8'' H clear plastic card holder (card included) to identify the tenant’s name and/or box number. The 16-1/2'' D compartments are made of sheet aluminum. 4B+ standard horizontal mailboxes feature a durable powder coated finish available in four attractive colors, ALUMINUM, BRONZE, GOLD or SANDSTONE. These units are available as FRONT LOADING units or REAR LOADING units. If the unit is front loading, a front loading door panel swings on a continuous hinge. One mailbox opening is required for a master postal or commercial lock and cannot be used for mail distribution. If the unit is rear loading, all openings are usable. 4B+ standard horizontal mailboxes can receive mail from either the US POSTAL SERVICE or from aPRIVATE INDIVIDUAL.

Salsbury Industries 4B+ vertical (3500 series) and 4B+ horizontal (3600 series) mailboxes have been U.S.P.S approved to the required security upgrades of USPS-STD-4B+. These mailboxes are approved for replacement and /or retrofit installations effective October 2006. For new construction or major remodels, 4C horizontal mailboxes (3700 series) are required.

The demand for improved mailbox security prompted the United States Postal Service to develop this standard. The standard requires manufacturers to strengthen and improve the master door (arrow lock compartment) on vertical style apartment house mail receptacles (3500 series) and horizontal style apartment house mail receptacles (3600 series).
